Earlier this month, the EAC issued a
fact sheet highlighting how states conduct list maintenance, the importance of accurate voter registration lists, and the National Voter Registration Act’s provisions to ensure voter lists are maintained. It also gives guidance for voters wishing to proactively check the status of their own voter registration.
The commission is also hosting a series of blog posts from state officials who offer snapshots of how they conduct voter list maintenance, the importance of this effort and advice for others. To date,
Jennifer Morrell, Deputy of Elections & Records in the Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder’s Office in Colorado, and Neal Kelley, Registrar of Voters for Orange County, Calif., have published blogs. This "Maintenance Monday" blog series will continue in the weeks ahead and is available on the
EAC’s website.

The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) was established by the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA). It is an independent, bipartisan commission charged with ensuring secure, accurate and accessible elections by developing guidance to meet HAVA requirements, adopting voluntary voting system guidelines, and serving as a national clearinghouse of information on election administration. EAC also accredits testing laboratories and certifies voting systems, as well as administers the use of HAVA funds. For more information, visit www.eac.gov.
