EAC Releases Video Series to Educate and Drive Voters to Trusted Sources of Information Ahead of the Upcoming Election

Press Releases

Videos in the “Be Election Ready” Series Cover Aspects of Voter Registration, Options to Cast a Ballot, and Election Administration in Two Minutes

WASHINGTON, DC—The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) has released a new series of videos called “Be Election Ready,” that simplifies information on various aspects of voter registration, options to cast a ballot, and election administration. The six-part series is intended to drive voters across the country to trusted sources for information specific to their community, such as their state and local election officials.

Each video in the series is about two-minutes long and is designed to allow election officials, civic organizations, and others to share them with their communities. Topics include: registering to vote, making a plan to vote, voting by mail, voting in person, trusted sources of information, and election results. The EAC is creating 30-second versions of each video to make it even easier to capture the attention of voters, which will also be available on the EAC’s YouTube channel.

With voter registration deadlines in some states fast approaching, the first video in the “Be Election Ready” video series provides timely and understandable information on the voter registration process and different methods available for registration. During the last presidential election, more than 209 million people were active registered voters according to the 2020 U.S. Election Administration and Voting Survey (EAVS). The 30-second version for Registering to Vote is available now.

The EAC recently partnered with the American Psychological Association on a different video series to support election officials devoted to managing workplace stress. It includes two videos—one is focused on understanding, recognizing, and managing stress in the workplace and the second is designed for use in poll worker training classes. Both are featured on the EAC’s YouTube channel.
