For each state, you will find links to information including the state election office, local election office directory, information about registering to vote and updating your registration, checking your registration status, and options to cast a ballot. The EAC provides summary information pulled from state websites. Update Political Party: When a person registers to vote in Texas, they do not register with any kind of party affiliation. However, after affiliating with a party by voting in a party’s primary or by taking an oath of affiliation with a party, a voter cannot change their party affiliation during the calendar year.
